Camping is not just for summertime. Take your family on an adventure vacation in winter. Bogstad is situated with Nordmarka as its neighbor, which provides a wealth of possibilities for nature and sports lovers. Below you can read more about the winter activities available in the nearby areas. For more information and assistance, the staff at the reception are here to help you.
Ski tour opportunities in Nordmarka
When you visit us in winter, you have great ski opportunities in Nordmarka, with ski tracks, which begin right inside the campsite. You can connect to over 2000 km of prepared tracks and several hundred kilometers of lighted tracks.
Alpine, Telemark and Snowboarding
It is just 3 km to the nearest alpine ski area, Wyllerløypa, and 6 km up to Tryvannskleiva alpine area, where it is possible to rent equipment with Tomm Murstad Ski Rentals. You can also find snowboard and ski classes all winter at Tomm Murstad Ski School.
Sledding and Tobogganing on the "Corkscrew"
When Oslo had the winter Olympics in 1952 the "corkscrew" was the worlds best-known toboggan hill. The corkscrew is not far from Bogstad and both children and adults use the several km long track the whole winter. The track starts at the restaurant/café Frognerseteren, where many begin their trip in the tradition rich atmosphere known for their delicious apple cake and cocoa. At the bottom of the track you can luckily catch the T-bane (local train) to ride back up to the top again. If you don't have your own toboggan, don't worry you can easily rent one.
Sleigh rides in idyllic Sørkedalen
In winter you can take a horse drawn sleigh ride. The frozen rivers in Sørkedalen (a nearby valley) are often used for horse drawn sleighs. The horse stables are just a few kilometers from Bogstad and offer both sleigh rides in winter and horse back riding in the summer, both for groups and individuals. The Norwegian word for sleigh rides is "kanefart".
